Metroid is an action-adventure game that was released for the Famicom Disk System on August 6 1986 and on the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America in August 1987 and in Europe on January 25 1988. The game was later re-released for the Game-Boy Advance in 2004 and on the Virtual Console (used by the Wii, Wii U and 3DS) from 2007 onwards. The game was produced by Gunpei Yokoi, directed by Satoru Okada and Yoshio Sakamoto and it had its music composed by composer Hirokazu Tanaka.
